What's in the books is a starting point. What really counts are the observations of people who have kept the same species for years. Every contribution makes the site a little more accurate and up to date.
Hobbyist note
Share a tip, an experience or a warning using the Leave a note form at the bottom of a species page. Readers vote for the notes they find useful; the best ones rise to the top.
Compatibility report
Have you kept two species together? Report how it went. Reports feed directly into the planner's warnings: if three hobbyists say "I had problems", the planner warns too.
Edit suggestion
Every section has a Suggest an edit link next to it. An editor reviews the changes and approves them; they appear under your name in the revision history. You could be the first to write an empty section.
Tank log
Add your tank and enter your water tests. Median values appear on species pages as "community measurements"; your breeding records are added to the statistics.
Price report
Report the per-piece price you saw in a store or online. Outliers are filtered out automatically, and averages are built city by city.
Species request
If the species you're looking for isn't here, request it with the button in the search results. The most requested species are written first.
Trust and moderation
- Notes from new members are published after editor approval. After 3 approved contributions, your notes are published without waiting.
- Edit suggestions always go through editor approval; editors can edit directly.
- Contributions containing advertising, sales listings, text copied from other sites or personal information are rejected. Accounts that repeatedly break the rules are closed.
- This site is not for selling live animals; price reports are for market information only.
